You are bound to hear Koren Carmichael Turner quote this scripture at least once while in her presence. Her life has become a testimony that all things do work together for our good. Koren is a wife, mother, daughter, First Lady, vocalist, songwriter, entrepreneur, poised author, and more recently, a solo recording artist.

A collection of melodies and lyrics were given to Koren through spending time in intimate communication with God. These experiences birthed the PURE WORSHIP LIVE EXPERIENCE, Koren’s first full album. 

​

Koren was born and raised in Aberdeen, MD. She was born into a household that had an immense love for God and that same love was cultivated in her. Her father, a deacon, and mother, a minister, raised their family in the fear of the Lord. The Carmichael Family could be heard singing in their home church and abroad, with a sound and ability that was God given and God inspired.

​

The ministry of music is not novel to Koren. Her passion for worship and music has been used to glorify God since childhood. Her heart for God, the anointing on her life, and her prolific vocal ability has opened doors for her to minister through song in Kenya, Johannesburg, Paris, and across North America. She has also been a featured lead vocalist on multiple Christian albums.

With much prayer and waiting on God’s timing, Koren was instructed by God to record her first album. This instruction was received with great joy not only by Koren, but by the masses that she has worshiped with around the world. On August 28, 2021, the PURE WORSHIP LIVE EXPERIENCE was birthed into the earth realm. A sold-out room of worshipers came together to witness and participate in her first live recorded worship experience.

Koren desires to see people happy, healthy, and whole. Not only is she an advocate for spiritual wealth, but she is also an advocate for personal advancement in the natural. Koren works in multiple philanthropic roles in addition to her music and speaking ministries. With a Master of Science in Accounting, she is an advocate for higher education and constantly encourages all to continue to learn. She encourages entrepreneurship and multiple streams of income. As a strict believer in physical fitness and health, she works with others to help attain and maintain their personal fitness goals. Koren has also devoted her life to helping others who have been held captive by their past to break free and grow. Because she believes that worship is more than just a song, she has established Worship By God's Design Ministries, an organization that shows love through giving. "A Safe Place For Widows" was birthed under this ministry. Through album sales, WBGD Ministries is also able to sponsor the following organizations: St. Jude Children's Research, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Shriner's Children's Hospital, and The World Food Program.

On October 5, 2008, Koren happily married Dr. L. LaMont Turner, Pastor of Zion Temple Church, Inc. located in Edgewood, MD. Koren has one daughter, Harmony, and through their union she gained a son, Lael. Life is beautiful!
